MONTANA AMARILLA

Shore Dive – Max Depth 25m – Costa del Silencio; Tenerife

For all divers & Snorkelers

Diving
Montaña Amarilla, aka “Yellow Mountain”, is approximately 25 mins by road from One Two Dive. We dive the site from the shore, into a protected marine park with unique variations in the landscape. The dive site has a maximum depth of 20m.
This dive site is one of the most special once of Tenerife. The mountain is a fossilized sand dune. The sand is fossilized in layers and plates. This has created a landscape underwater that is unique. The sand-formations which are covered with yellow sponges and green algaes give you the impression to be diving in a coral reef. In the stony area we can find cracks with octopuses and moray eels. In the sandy parts we can find cuttlefish, garden eels and stingrays. Around the rocks we find overhangs and passages, one with a resident spotted burr-fish. At the first pinnacle, we can swim trough a wide open cave to visit the cave animals: moray eels, glass eyes, sponges, shrimps, lobsters and anemones. There are even some well camouflaged frog fish and sea horses. Above us we can meet shoals of needle fish, barracudas, and breams. Every twenty meters of your dive, you will be in another environment.

ABADES

Shore Dive & Snorkelling – Max Depth 12m – Puerto de Alcala; Tenerife

For all divers & Snorkelers

Diving

Abades is approximately 30 mins by road from One Two Dive. The dive site is also a protected marine park, is reached from the shore, with an average depth from 6 to 12m and further out up to 18m.

Because of the abundance of marine life and the mostly excellent visibility, it is often called “the Aquarium”.  The reef, surrounded by sand, is rather shallow, going from 3m to finally 10m, and offers enough volcanic cracks and crevasses to attract an abundance of different animals. Here we can find moray eels, octopus, stingrays, wrasses, danzelfish, trumpet fish, anemones, scarlet shrimps, crabs, lobsters, and breams. In the sand, we can find flounders, razor fish, weavers, cuttlefish and stingrays. Further out it gets 16m to 18m. There we can find a garden of garden eels and on occasions bigger stingrays and one of the local turtles of that area.

This is a most excellent site for snorkelers, beginner divers and marine lovers alike. The visibility and depth is very interesting for underwater photography. The area outside of the water is also very nice for groups and families, offering a white sandy beach with some taverns around.
